Some Common Issues We face As Nurses
Nursing is a profoundly rewarding profession, but it also presents unique
challenges that can impact the well-being of those in the field.
Emotional/Physical Stress
Nurses endure high-stress situations and physical tasks, leading to significant emotional and physical fatigue.
Long & Irregular Hours
Nurses often work long, irregular shifts—nights, weekends, and holidays—disrupting sleep and personal life.
Burnout
The intense stress and demands of nursing often lead to burnout, impacting mental health and job performance.
Understaffing
Many healthcare facilities are understaffed, increasing workload & stress, potentially compromising patient care.
Limited Resources
Nurses sometimes have to operate with insufficient resources, complicating the delivery of optimal care.
Administrative Burden
Significant documentation and administrative duties can reduce time spent on direct patient care.
Emotional Isolation
The intensity of nursing can cause emotional isolation, leading to detachment from loved ones & increased stress.
Exposure to Illness/Injury
High risk of exposure to infectious diseases and injury from patient handling to care or equipment accidents.
Our Story, Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a compassionate and supportive community where nurses can openly share their experiences, address burnout, and overcome moral injury. Through peer support, education, and advocacy, we empower nurses to prioritize their well-being and find joy in their work. Together, we create a culture of wellness and compassion, ensuring that every nurse feels valued, supported, and equipped to deliver exceptional care.
“Together, we find the strength to heal, the courage to continue, and the joy in caring.”

Meet the founder Nurse Blake
I started the Nurse Support Network because I know firsthand how challenging burnout can be. I’ve been a nurse for over 10 years, but about four years into my career, I experienced a panic attack while driving home from work. It was a moment when I felt completely alone in my profession, overwhelmed, and struggling with depression and anxiety. Even though it’s been years since that day, I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand burnout and how to help other nurses overcome it.
A few weeks ago, during a wellness retreat, I realized that we have the power to support each other through sharing our stories and listening to one another. The Nurse Support Network is a space where we can connect, find strength, and help each other heal.
